With your donations, we're partnering with Cool Earth to purchase rainforest in Costa Rica and the Amazon to protect it from deforestation. These forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate to clear land for farming, but are critical to protecting all of us from the devastating impacts of Global Warming. They're being destroyed at over one-acre per minute. We all know how tough it is to make a big impact on our own. But with the power of all of us, we CAN make a difference.

Huge amounts of CO2 are released in burning the forests, and we lose the our LARGEST source of CO2 absorption. Without the rainforests, we don't have a means for absorbing all of the carbon in the atmosphere, leading to greater rises in temperature and faster melting of the polar ice caps. As more and more rainforests are destroyed, the warming cycle goes faster and faster. That's why we must all act now. Act later and it may be too late.
